Sue Monk Kidd


Sue Monk Kidd was born and raised in Sylvester, Georgia. The Seceret Life of Bees was influenced by her home town. She went off to college and majored in nursing, and graduated in 1970 from Texas Christian University. Married Sandy Kidd and had two childern Bob and Ann. She returned to writing at the age of 30. She also taught at a small liberal arts school, and enrolled in fiction writing classes. She published several hundered articles mostly in Guideposts magazine. Her first book was God's Joyful Surprise published in 1988. Sue Monk Kidd's first novel was The Seceret Life of Bees which was published in 2002. More than 5 million copies were sold and it was on New York Times best seller list for two years and was published in 35 contries.
