Do you think Lilly’s mother really left her?
I really don’t think that maternal instinct would allow a mother to abandon her young child. Though the question of insanity and depression may enable a distressed individual to neglect certain aspects of their lives. As in life today parents even then, could be distracted by their own life and not thinking of what’s best for their child. Maybe the stress of being a young mother drove her insane? Maybe she was stuck in a marriage to a man she didn’t love? So many maybe’s so keep reading!!!

You make very good points and thinking that she just couldnt handle her life. But trying to leave her young innocent daughter behind,I cant believe that, so I think your right when you said that she does have the motherly instinct but maybe what ever was happening with T.Ray and her just got her too over whelmed and she couldnt handle it.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be a vast increase in today's society where mothers, even mothers who seem to have the "maternal instinct" as you call it are leaving their children behind and walking out of their lives. There was a time in history where this was unspeakable, but today it is becoming more common and more openly accepted by society. I think this is caused by a combination of factors.
