Do you think that Lily’s mother really left her?

At first I could not believe that her own mother would really just leave her young daughter behind. Lily still loved her mother no matter who was to blame for her death. Lily’s father, “T. Ray” was not a father figure to her at all. So when T. Ray told Lily what happened that night he told her things that she didn’t remember happening. T. Ray said that his wife only came back to get her things and then she was leaving. Lily was instantly crushed she didn’t know if T. Ray was lying to her or she really did try to leave that day. I believe T. Ray was lying to Lily, he was taking advantage of her for being so young and believing anything he says. That’s why Lily decided to run away to find out the real truth of her mother’s past.
